Type of technology:

Nanoelectrochemical biosensor platform for point-of-care, lab-on-a-chip systems.

Product solutions

Our ultra-sensitive electrochemical sensing technology is at the heart of a microfluidic sample chip that can detect various biomarkers in various bodily fluids. The technology is being validated (clinical proof-of-concept) for applications in cancer patient monitoring, COPD diagnosis and SARS-CoV-2 detection.

Other possible applications of their technology:

The platform is applicable to any healthcare solution where (sub)microscopic biomarkers are relevant, not only in diagnosis but also in treatment response prediction, (longitudinal) monitoring and preventive screening.

Disruptive innovation (s) :

Their sensing mechanism is uniquely capable of detecting individual (sub)microscopic biomarker particles specifically and in real-time.

Experience and/or interest in financing their product development through publicly funded projects:

We obtained 5 public grants that supported either building a business case or to conduct academic research and we won a government tender (“Small Business Innovation Research”) to develop a prototype for a fast and reliable point-of-care coronatest.

We are keen to explore opportunities to join other research consortia.
