Disruptive innovation (s) :
Their innovation relies on the perfect control of diamond epitaxial layer growth in terms of doping and thickness. Especially, their unique know how allow them to grow diamond with a wide range of doping level and hence a wide range of conduction : going from insulator to metallic conduction passing by semi-conducting one. Therefore they are able to propose electronic grade diamond wafers to fabricate electronic devices with outstanding performances compared to any other semi-conductor materials used today.
Experience and/or interest in financing their product development through publicly funded projects:
They don’t just develop a product, they participate to create a new sector.
To address the resulting challenges, they must surround theirselves with the players upstream and downstream of their technology. Thus the development of their product through collaborative projects financed by public aid seems to be the appropriate tool.
